Doula care that both holds and empowers you

Pregnancy can be wonderful and magical. But with so many choices to make, and everyone having an opinion, it can also be loud, overwhelming and exhausting.

All that noise can leave you confused, doubting yourself, and sometimes feeling lonely, even when you’re surrounded by people.

The truth is, you already know what you need. You just need a safe, grounded space where you can slow down, hear your own voice and learn to trust yourself fully.

As your doula, I’ll hold that space for you. And through pregnancy, birth and postpartum, I’ll give you the personalised support you need to feel genuinely held, uplifted and validated.

How I have helped others

As a doula, I’m known for my calming presence, soothing voice and big sister energy.

Book your initial consultation

To see if we’re a good fit to work together, we’ll meet in person for an hour, at a convenient place, like your home or your favourite cafe. The consultation is free and will give us a chance to talk about your needs and explore how I could support you.

Antenatal doula care

How I can hold you through pregnancy

You instinctively have a sense of what you want your pregnancy and birth to look like, but you recognise you need support to make it happen. Because there are so many decisions to make in such a small timeframe. And so many other voices wanting to be heard.

Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has a story. Everyone thinks they know best. Whether that’s your family, friends, people online, or people you meet at your antenatal appointments.

But the only expert who really matters is you.

I’ll hold space for you to calm the noise and tune in to your body. And, while I’m not here to direct your choices, I’ll make sure you feel informed, supported and confident in whatever you decide.

That might be building confidence in your decision to freebirth. It could be practical preparation for a midwife-supported home birth. Or talking through your options for a natural birth or planned caesarean.

If pregnancy gets too hectic, you can use our sessions to take time for yourself, with massage and bodywork that relieve discomfort and support your changing body.

When you’re ready, I’ll give you the personalised support you need to give birth on your own terms, wherever feels best and safest for you.

To give you the doula care you need, we’ll need to start working together at least two months before your due date.

Zoe is wonderful: she’s incredibly knowledgeable, sweet and gentle. She takes time to provide with further information and extra resources if you have any questions or doubts. She really helps to make informed choices about every aspect of the birthing process.

How I can hold you through birth

You can’t control everything that might happen during birth. But our antenatal preparation will help you feel safe, informed and powerful, whatever might unfold.

In birth, I’ll hold a calm, grounded space for everyone. And I’ll maintain an intuitive, nonintrusive presence that respects the intimacy of the experience for you and your partner or family.

For you, I can provide deep holding. It could be massage to support you during contractions, helping you get into more comfortable positions, and with gentle reminders of your strength. If advocacy is needed, I’ll be your anchor.

If you have a partner present, I can offer calming reassurance and a second pair of hands. This might be stepping in to support you while your partner takes a break or spends time with your other children. Or helping out with childcare so your partner can focus on you.

I’ll be on call for the birth between 38 and 42 weeks. If you go into labour outside that time, I’ll do everything I can to be there.

What if the birth doesn’t go to plan?

Things don’t always go to plan during birth.

You might need to transfer from your home birth to the hospital. Or from your home-from-home MLU to a labour ward

If the birth you planned for ceases to be an option, you might need to consider alternatives, like caesarean birth or epidurals.

As someone who has come to know you and your beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and as someone who understands the medical system, this is where I can help.

If you need it, I can hold space for you to make different choices, while bringing calm to situations that might otherwise be stressful.

If you experienced trauma, if you weren’t satisfied with the care you received, or if you had to spend time in the NICU, the holding will continue.

Whether that’s helping to write complaints, putting you in touch with the right people to support you, or simply showing up with a meal and holding space for you to talk.

During labour, Zoe was an incredible presence… calm, grounded and focused on supporting me despite challenges. She held space for me with such care, offering comfort and strength when I needed it most. Her ability to remain steady and attentive in a challenging situation made all the difference.

Postpartum doula care

Holding you as a new mother

Pregnancy and birth put your body through a lot, so it’s important to hold space for your physical and emotional recovery.

In postpartum, my focus is on supporting you as you transition from being pregnant to becoming a new parent. It’s a time when you’ll be going through some physical, hormonal and cognitive adjustments. And when the right support and understanding can make a world of difference.

Recovery looks different for everyone, so the care I offer will be personalised for you and your family.

It might include gentle massage, rebozo and bodywork to restore balance to your body. Or deep listening and holding space for you to share your feelings.

It could be practical help, like breastfeeding support or guidance on caring for a newborn. Or someone to hold your baby, do a little housework, or provide some nourishing food, so you can rest and feel looked after.

Closing the bones ceremony

Closing the bones is a traditional postpartum massage ritual that uses bodywork to bring deep healing to the joints, muscles, tissues and fluids.

It’s usually performed after birth, but can be used to support you through all kinds of transitions in your body.

The ritual is a celebration that honours everything you’ve achieved. It holds space for nurturing, which can relieve physical pain and restore balance to your body. And it can help you release emotions that may have been difficult to express.

I offer this ritual to everyone who books a full doula care package or as a postpartum session.

Such a crucial holder of space in the postpartum period. Zoe has lived experience and meets you where you're at in your postpartum journey to help heal, tune into source power and gift you lots of space and cups of tea.

The prices listed are a reflection of my skill set, my experience and also what I feel I need as a small business owner considering my own financial needs and commitments. I want to honour that my pricing might not be accessible to everyone, and that as someone who has navigated solo parenting and a complex benefits system in the past, I understand and am passionate about cost not being a barrier. I am open to people contacting me to discuss a different payment plan or a reduced rate and this will be offered at a discretionary basis based on my workload and availability at the time. I will always strive to support you in the way you specifically need, whilst making sure I am also held and provided for.

Personalised postpartum care, with specialist support built in

Specialist postpartum support, built in

Every person's postpartum needs are different. With the Held Whole package, you can swap one of your postpartum sessions for a specialist visit, tailored to what will support you most in early parenthood.

After booking, you can choose from:

Breastfeeding support with Pippa

You'll receive a 90-minute home visit from Pippa, a qualified breastfeeding counsellor who specialises in gentle, trauma-informed infant feeding support.

Pippa offers calm, reassuring guidance to help you feed your baby in a way that feels right for you. She can support you with exclusive breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding and combo-feeding, meeting you where you are, always.

Postnatal MOT with Lindsey Graham

You'll receive a full postnatal physiotherapy assessment from Lindsey, a women's health specialist offering Postnatal MOTs from the Sophie Lamb Sports Therapy space in Sunderland.

The assessment includes pelvic floor support, an abdominal assessment and personalised guidance to help you recover well, move confidently and rebuild strength safely after birth.

Newborn photography with Christine

Swap a postpartum session for The First Chapter, a 60-minute lifestyle newborn session with Christine of Skinn Photography. Christine captures the quiet, tender details of your first days together, and you'll receive 10 hand-edited images in a private online gallery.

Why this matters: Postnatal care shouldn't be one-size-fits-all. This option gives you the flexibility to build the support that truly meets your needs, whether that's feeding support, body-based recovery care, photographs of your first days, or staying with your doula sessions.

Add body work to your doula care package

Bodywork is hands-on physical support to help you prepare for labour, cope with contractions and recover postpartum.

It includes alignment and movement techniques to help with your positioning during birth. And specialised massage to reduce tension, ease pain, and promote healing.

Bodywork sessions are valid from the time of booking up to 12 weeks postpartum.

3 x sessions - £135 (normally £150)

6 x sessions - £270 (normally £300)

Be sure to discuss any body work you'd like to consider during your initial consultation.
